Hill Billy Wife Carrying Competition

Carry your wife, girlfriend, or lady friend across a course filled with obstacles.

1. -1st prize: $250.00 & two $50.00 gift certificates donated by ‘Back in Motion'
   -2nd prize: $100.00 & two $25.00 gift certificates donated by ‘Back in Motion’
   -3rd prize: $50.00 & two $25.00 gift certificates donated by ‘Back in Motion’

2. The decision of the judges is final.

3. Due to time constraints, entries accepted may be limited.

4. The event will take place at 3:00pm on Saturday August 20th, 2011; participants must be present by 2:30pm

5. The wife to be carried may be your own, the neighbour’s, or you may have found her on the corner; she must, however, be 18 years of age or over.

6. If a contestant drops his wife, he has to re-lift her on to his back or in his arms and continue carrying.

7. The only assistive equipment allowed is a belt worn by the carrier. Due to the nature of the event, helmets, kneepads, elbow pads, etc. can be worn.

8. The contestants run the race two teams at a time, so each heat is a contest in itself.

9. The top three fastest couples are the winners of the event.

10. The most entertaining couple, the couple with the best costume, and the strongest carrier will be awarded a special prize.

11. In the event of a tie, the couples will run the course again to determine the final placing.

12. The Mountain Township Agricultural Society reserves the right to refuse any entry.
